UQ Idea Hub

LeadHers: the first confidence building incubator for women leaders at UQ

Over the six-week program, students, staff and young alumni will deepen their relationship between confidence and leadership and the challenges of finding a leadership style that feels unique and true to themselves.

This program aims to attract all the women that are in or want to get into leadership positions in their field, as managers, entrepreneurs, researchers or academics.

Each week we will discuss topics that contribute to the lack of confidence such as perfectionism, people pleasing, guilt, impostor syndrome, inner criticism and the socialisation of women. We will dive into how these traits are materialised in different aspect of leadership and management such as building relationships, delegating, managing teams and other stakeholders, pitching and selling.

In this intake, we’ll hear stories from women in science, business and creative backgrounds that will share their experience and thoughts on their relationship with leadership and how they got to a place where they found their style and felt comfortable with it. We will have hands on activities for the participants to deepen their analysis and understanding of their leadership style and feel more confident influencing others.

Apply now to join the UQ Idea Hub Startup LeadHers program open to all female UQ students, staff and alumni.
